This aerial photo taken on 8/21/04 shows the destruction caused by an unprotected beaver dam located on the proposed dump site which violated the DEC permit and sent excessive amounts of water, mud contaminate and debris in the Moose Creek, and Sugar and Black Rivers.

Standing on the hilltop within the cemetery, one can overlook the village of Boonville and surrounding countryside to the west. Within a number years, the proposed Ava landfill would be seen from this sacred place.

The Class C trout stream which normally runs clear, is filled will muddy water the week of April 17, 2005 after nearly 2 weeks of no rain. Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority contruction is presently underway nearby.
