After the active pond was destroyed, beaver immediately went back to work rebuilding the dam that washed away due to an "unknown cause." Failure to protect water sources on and adjacent to the proposed dump site violates the DEC permit. Photo taken 8/24/04

CCI, the excavation company working for the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority, is attempting to build an access road and "man-made wetlands" in a natural wetlands area that is in close proximity to the beaver pond that was destroyed just days earlier. The Moose Creek has been filled with mud contaminate and debris since the beaver dam gave way between 6:00 and 7:00 pm, after construction crews left the proposed dump site and before an Oneida County Sheriff's patrol (paid by OHSWA) arrived on August 19. Photo taken 8/30/04
